IRISH SPA ASSOCIATION WINTER SUCCESS

On Monday 21st November, we attended the Irish Spa Association (ISA)’s winter conference to discuss the challenges and opportunities the spa industry currently faces.

The event took place at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Dublin, where inspirational speaker Peter Turley presented a speech on overcoming cognitive bias to grow business, and ISA co-founder Anita Murray discussed concepts to future-proof businesses.

Following on from their summer event around resilience, the ISA’s winter event was just as insightful and a huge success. Keep your eyes peeled for more events to be announced for 2023.

AUTUMN STATEMENT FOR BUSINESSES

Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, has announced his plan to tackle the cost-of-living crisis… but how does this affect businesses?

The rise in National Living Wage, further business rates support and changes to the energy support package will likely impact all types of businesses. The increase in wage to £10.42 an hour for over 23s, and apprentices to £5.28 alone will affect professionals across all industries, from spas and hospitality all the way through to hair and beauty salons.

Richard Lambert, chief executive of the NHBF, stated "…the willingness of the Government to continue support for energy bills and the next phase of the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) will be crucial. Energy is the first or second largest overhead [for businesses]... so that decision, when it comes, may determine whether it’s game over or not for many businesses at the heart of the high street and their community.”

GOOD SPA GUIDE REGIONAL AWARDS

The winners of the Good Spa Guide Regional Awards have been announced.

After rigorous Good Spa Guide Bubble Ratings, the regional finalists travelled to the awards ceremony in London. Taking place on Monday 28th November, the awards celebration saw the winners selected from each regional category. The team at Premier were in attendance to celebrate the victors, which included several clients of ours software.

The NHBF have announced their top 100 social media influencers for 2022!

The decision came following hundreds of nominations and analysis of followers, engagements and reach, and was announced following a bustling event at Electric Space in London. Many high-profile beauty professionals have topped the list.

Cher Webb, make-up artist, came in at the number three spot. Caroline Hirons, skincare expert, meanwhile came in at number two. Ultimately, the top spot was awarded to Jamie Genevieve, founder of Vieve.
