BABTAC LAUNCHES TIME CAMPAIGN
The British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) have launched a new initiative to help regulate those carrying out beauty treatments.
The ‘T.I.M.E’ initiative was launched at the Houses of Parliament towards the end of January, providing a framework of competency for clients. Standing for Training, Insurance, Monitoring and Evidence, T.I.M.E helps break down the areas clients should look out for to make sure they are receiving the quality of treatment they are after.

NHBF RELEASES NEW STATE OF THE INDUSTRY REPORT
The National Hair and Beauty Federation (NHBF) has published its most recent State of the Industry report.
The report outlines key statistics and areas of the hair and beauty industry over the past year. Such findings have revealed that 25% of businesses are making either a small or substantial loss, or that 51% raised their prices to contend with current inflation and energy costs (since September 2022).
“The latest survey results show that businesses already in debt are still grappling with rising energy costs, supplier and staff costs,” concurs Richard Lambert, NHBF chief executive.
UKHOSPITALITY PARTNERS WITH NEW APPRENTICESHIP CAMPAIGN
UKHospitality has partnered with the Department for Education to promote apprenticeships in hospitality.
The advertising for these hospitality apprenticeships will be showcased as part of the Government’s Career Starter Apprenticeships campaign. These are set to be promoted across schools and colleges up and down the country.
“I’m delighted that hospitality and catering now features as part of the Government’s new apprenticeship campaign. Apprenticeships play a key role in developing the future generations of talent and offer an exciting way to learn practice skills on the job,” confirms Kate Nicholls, UKHospitality Chief Executive.
