How to Create a Personal Brand for Your Salon or Spa

There’s no one quite like you, so why not use this to create a personal brand for your salon or spa? As a business owner, a ‘personal brand’ is all about putting some of your personality, story and values into the salon or spa so that it’s an extension of yourself, rather than a faceless company. To help you do this and come across more welcoming, we’ve put together several ways to create a personal brand.

Reflect your personal brand on your website

Who are you? What do you stand for? What is your story? By answering these on the website’s ‘About Us’ page, you help clients understand what you’re about and entice them to visit! This could outline unique selling points, such as if the business is family-run or if the team has a passion for sustainable practices. These then reflect in the treatments offered, tone of voice, and even brand colours.

Show a personal brand on social media

90% of all social media users have communicated with a brand on the platform, according to dreamgrow, with 70% of consumers feeling more connected to businesses with active representatives, according to sproutsocial. That means having a social presence is vital for your salon or spa, as is showing the personality behind the business on there… so is your salon doing it right on social media? Bios are a fab place to start, relaying your personal story, values and expertise. This then extends to social content to show the team and facilities in action, or a live Q&A to interact with the community. Showing the people behind the business will go a long way in helping clients connect!

Use a personal social media profile

Your personal social media profile is also important to highlight the salon or spa’s benefits! For example, you can edit your Facebook bio to provide a short sentence about who you are, what you do, then provide a link to the salon or spa’s business page. Once optimised, your profile can be used to interact with groups interested in hair or beauty, view trends, share knowledge and ultimately attract new clients. Similarly, Insta enables linking to your business page from your personal profile.

Highlight your personal brand by writing a blog

Blogs are still as important as ever! Not only do they help you come across as trustworthy by sharing in-depth knowledge of hair and beauty practices, but they help attract clients to your website using keywords and links. It’s then possible to talk about hot topics in the industry, using your own tone of voice, and outline how your salon is catering to the topic in question. Blogs therefore help new and existing audiences trust you and the business by providing that personal edge.

Salon by Premier Software® helps manage hair and beauty businesses and communicate your brand effectively. For example, its marketing templates can be saved and sent via email and SMS, keeping your brand front of clients’ minds. To discover more about how Salon can help you, click the button below.
